Adobe Spark is an easy set of three webtools, created by the makers of Photoshop and many other award winning desktop softwares which we love and dislike at the same time. Adobe Spark tools are easy to use and accessible on nearly any device, making them wonderful in the classroom.
This hands on session will provide an overview of each of the tools: Adobe Spark Video, Adobe Spark Post and Adobe Spark Pages and how you can use these in your everyday lives and in your classroom. Adobe Spark credentialing is easy using your google account and puts design skills into the hand of the design novice giving you great results easily. Bring your mobile device loaded with Adobe Spark Post, Video and Pages as well as your chromebook or laptop. Youtube has changed the way we view the world. At any moment you can watch a video "how-to" to create anything. Learn how you can create your own tutorials, green screen videos and morning newscast all on Chromebooks. We will unlock the learning potential of video in the classroom. Move over Hollywood, Teachers are moving in!

Google Classroom helps teachers save time, keep classes organized, and improve communication with students. Things that are old can be incorporated into the new. We just need to rethink how we engage students in this new era. Classroom is one such vehicle for engagement. During this workshop participants will play alongside each other in a Google Classroom as students and see what is possible for them to implement. Learn34.com accounts will be provided to session attendees prior to the workshop, to expedite learning time during the session. Please bring your teacher laptops.

Staff and students are interacting with the internet and creating content constantly. Help your students curate consciously and critically when selecting images and information from the internet for their projects, blogs, presentations, etc. Learn about filter bubbles and how to bust them. Talk about unconscious bias and open windows to the world to help students broaden horizons and create products world citizen style.

In this session, I plan to discuss the journey I have travelled with my students in using VR as a learning tool. Topics of discussion will include Google Earth, VR Apps, and Sketchup as a tool for VR development. Attendees to this session will be creating their own virtual environment and some will have the opportunity to explore what they have created in VR. If you plan to attend this session, please bring a laptop/Chromebook and a mouse with a wheel.

After learning the basics and curriculum in Code.org we will look into creating apps on the program. We will start by creating a coding resource that we can use in multiple apps. We create different apps that can be used in the classroom: a voting app that tallies the votes and gives immediate feedback. A field trip app that allows the students to explore their surroundings with sounds and clips. Giving them the experience they would have with a personal guide. Templates will be shared that shows all the different uses app building has in the classroom. We will also dive into the process of making an app for the Apple Store and Google Play using Thunkable platform.
