On-Line Performing and Athletic Arts Courses: A Collaboration

Coilean Arts Inc. has embraced the new performing arts curriculum and the Ministry's vision of students learning outside of traditional classrooms. The courses began as a collaboration between experts in the field (a performing artist, a dance studio owner, and a skating coach) and an expert in pedagogy and curriculum (a BC Certified teacher). Students across BC now have access to a suite of performing and athletic arts courses -- dance, drama and musical theatre -- which they can tailor to their particular styles and interests within their art form. Come and hear about the journey and the power of partnerships. Then take a peek at the structure, which is key to student engagement and choice.
